We couldn't have asked for a hotter, more chaotic 4th of July celebration. There were about two thousand times during the morning, while getting ready, that I actually thought we weren't going to make it to the beach. Lo and behold we blew my mind and arrived in a sandy, shady heaven around 4:00.

Ha. Heaven. Well, it was nice to be away from home. You can see how much stuff we have to haul, just to set up shop away from home for a few hours. And this really is the bare minimum.
We were later joined by our friends, the Olsen's who (thankfully, so we didn't look like such overpacked-dorks) brought just as much stuff as we did!

We thought we had the perfect spot for firework watching. When we heard the first real boom we realized we were right behind a pesky tree. It was off on foot to find better watching ground. I'm grateful to our little digi-cam for capturing some sweet fireworks shots since this was our first show together as a family of six!
