PRODUCTS // LEMONS AND LAVENDER

I haven't read a book in FOUR DAYS since I was in highschool!

Highschool, people! That is, until now.

From the moment I laid a hand on Lemons and Lavender, I knew I was going to be pleased. Not only is the subject relevant and interesting, but the materials are quality, too.
I got so wrapped up in the money-saving, fend-for-yourself tips that I literally could not put it down.
"Bursting with ways to downshift, simplify, preserve resources, and honor the planet, Lemons and Lavender will give you tools to reclaim a purer, tastier, healthier and less expensive way of life. Sharp shares her radical common sense and revolutionary 'freeconomics' approach to budgeting in this step-by-step guide to the good life."
Creative ideas inside Lemons and Lavender:

• Garden-to-table recipes for every meal
• Eco-deco ideas for furnishing your home
• Recipes for nontoxic cleaners, house paint and more
• Start a seed sharing garden with your neighbors
• Easy-to-make gifts with handcrafted gift wrap
• Grow your own cup of delicious herbal tea
• Learn to use organic sea salts, skin scrubs and detox bath therapies
This book thouroughly and intelligently encompasses everything that I strive to do, which is easy: keep life simple. Billee not only talks-the-talk but she walks-the-walk, too. She has done everything she wrote about, and for many years. This book is more of a diary of personal accomplishments than it is a how-to guide.
Bonus: It boosted my self-confidence by reminding me that if the material is worth my time, I still have it in me to burn through the pages.

Give this cute (and well thought out) book a chance, you'll be glad you did. And if you hate it, it will at least look great on your nightstand!

  1. Sounds like a wonderful book! We make our own laundry detergent and have a small vegetable and herb garden.

  2. I sip on water with lemon every day. I try to use vinegar to clean but I'm having a hard time with the smell. in the summer we garden and freeze as much back as possible so we'll have fresh vegs all winter!

    1. One thing that helps me with the strong vinegar smell is adding drops of lavender or tea tree essential oil (that's just what we have, the possibilities are numerous!). Not only does it smell better then, but it also boosts the anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-everything power!

  8. I stockpile sale products, and save cereal boxes, paper rolls, etc, to donate to my local zoo - they use them for enrichment for the animals and then recycle them! I also made my own reusable paper towels :)
    Thanks for the chance!
