I love our new healthy way of eating, don't get me wrong, but it sure can get monotonous when you lack creativity like I sometimes do (especially in the kitchen, where I also lack experience).

 

Following a Whole Foods, Plant Based diet is working out well for our family. So well, in fact, that I've already lost 17 pounds without trying! That's inspiration to keep moving on, but at what cost to our taste buds?

 

So I say BRING ON THE FLAVOR, and on that note, grab some of Annie Chun's all natural Asian staples from the pantry and LET'S GET COOKING!

Spring Rolls: Annie Chun's MAIFUN Brown Rice noodles / Seasoned Soybean Paste up front for garnish and flavor

 

The name of the noodles, MAIFUN, is definitely "fun" to say! Annie stole our hearts (and stomachs) with brown rice noodles. Finally a rice noodle with some substance! They held up fabulously in our (okay my husband's) Spring Rolls.

 

The seasoned soybean paste was nothing for me to write home about, as I didn't enjoy it's flavor, but my husband enjoyed it. And on that note I wouldn't give it to our babies, it was about 3-out-of-5 on a heat scale.

Our surprise of the night came when we cracked open the Seaweed Snacks (brown sugar and sea salt was the winning flavor, but cracked pepper and herbs came in a close second). To our delight our 19-month-old twins could not get enough of the Omega3-packed snack! I didn't care for it's earthy sea vegetable flavor, but again my husband (and obviously my kids) were fans.

If you're planning a Holiday celebration this season, why not add some healthy snacking options to the mix? Another great idea: give a basket of gourmet pantry items to someone you love. You'll be doing their bellies (and their hearts) a favor!
