Ayara: 3 Months

Hey Everybody! It's Ayara here (again).

Normally babies don't get a three-month-old doctor's appointment but I was the lucky recipient this week.

On Saturday dad noticed that I wasn't acting like myself and after mom called the doctor's office Saturday they said I had to go to this place called the E.R. I don't really get what all the fuss is about but aparently I was lethargic and having trouble keeping my eyes open.

That E.R. place was not very fun. They drew my blood and hooked me up to monitors that beeped constantly. I got bored with the whole thing after a while so I slept on mom's chest. After an hour or two I perked right up and we got to go home.

The next day I was feeling the same and so I got to go see one of my pediatricians. After waiting over an hour to see her she said I looked "the picture of health." I'm stumping everybody!

I get to do a special test this week called an EEG (Grammy is a nurse and she said that stands for Electroencephalogram) to measure my brain's electrical activity. Whoa. Sounds intense but I'm not scared because I heard dad say it's non-invasive. He also told the doctor he wants to know I'm not having a seizure (that doesn't sound good!) so I agreed to go.

Enough with that adult mumbo-jumbo, though. Let's get to the good stuff!

Here are my three month stats:
I'd say I'm doing pretty well!

I: weigh 14 pounds, 12 ounces, can roll over on occasion, love holding my froggie toy, still sleep in my bassinet occasionally (and sometimes with mom and dad if I'm super hungry and mom's tired). I love supporting my own weight and being upright. I can hold my head up no problem. Mom and dad always say "she's so strong!" Yep. I think that's it.

Alright, I beter get back to napping while it's quiet/my brothers are sleeping. I know you only read this post to see amazingly adorable pictures of me so here they (finally) are. Close-ups of my sweet baby self:

 With Love, Ayara.

    1. Thank you, Aprile, for the kind words. It's so un-nerving to have a child in the Hospital for ANY reason (in my opinion). It's great to get encouragement from others. And thank you also for the compliment ;) I think she's pretty darn cute, too!

  2. She's adorable! I have a kiddo who was in NICU for a few weeks, then diagnosed with "Failure to Thrive" later on, and is still not even close to on the "growth curve". I know how you feel!

    1. Thank you, Shayla. May I ask- how old is your child that was in the NICU now? I have heard many triumps of children diagnosed "failing to thrive" and so extend to you my sympathy but also encouragment that it may be temporary. Every child is different.
